Hi! My name is Zane Sereda, I'm 20 years old, and am living in Toronto, Canada. I like to play piano, make music, draw, write, tell jokes, have conversations, think, produce, and create. I am currently in my fourth year at Humber College for a Bachelor in Music for Jazz Performance on Piano. I specialize in jazz piano, but I also have proficiency in scoring (films, tv, video games), teaching, producing, making beats, arranging, and audio engineering. On the side, I like to make visual art, write poetry, play drums, edit posters and videos, make content, and practice comedy.
Sometimes I go by Zane Kismet, and sometimes I go by other things as well. I think self-presentation is a central facet as to who we are as people, as well as who we are as artists. Humanity is built on communication, and the legacy of our identities and passions live on through the actions and works we make based on our own experiences. The name that I present certain projects with portrays the identity as to the creative experiences being responsible for the given works.
As for who I am, I was born in Calgary, Alberta. My parents put me in piano lessons at a young age though my passion did not start for it until Grade 8, when I switched from classical piano to jazz/contemporary piano. I am also a classical percussionist, and battled between the two as to what to pursue in post-secondary, only deciding months before the admission cycle. I have studied with incredible musicians such as Don Thompson, Robi Botos, Brian Dickinson, Bernie Senensky, and Gerry Hebert.
On this website you will find all the current projects I am working on. Some pages may not be as developed or still be in progress, but I will try to keep everything as updated as possible.
Please feel free to reach out if you would like to work with me!
